Anxiety
From worries and fears, nightmares, separation anxiety, or a glass half empty mindset, kids can have a hard time managing the stresses of life on their own. I use evidenced-based cognitive and play therapy approaches to help your child develop the tools they need to navigate all of life's moments and build their self-confidence.
Emotional Regulation
Your child has big feelings, and you aren't sure how you're supposed to help them navigate. Sometimes the smallest thing will end up in frustration, tears, or shutdown. I work with your child to develop effective strategies to ride the waves of emotions, and with you to strengthen your own ability to co-regulate with your child.Â
Areas of Focus
ADHD
Whether your child has been officially diagnosed, or just seems to fit the picture, ADHD is more than just a distracted, active kid. Struggles show up at home, in school, and in activities, with your child having trouble finishing homework, sitting still, or remembering that you asked them to brush their teeth. My approach combines one-on-one skill building and parent support to find what supports will help your family function at its best.
Transitions
Starting school, moving, losses, and changing friend dynamics are big deals in a child's life. Giving them the space to process what they're going through while developing the tools to manage the emotions that come along are essential. In our work, we'll focus on creating a safe space for your child, and on deepening your connection with them so you feel equipped to meet their emotional needs during this tough time.
Behavioral Issues
Outbursts, meltdowns, tantrums, yelling, and aggressive behavior leave most parents at their wit's end. You've tried everything, but nothing seems to work long-term. You dread getting another call home from school, and worry about your child making friends. I aim to work collaboratively with you to identify what's going on under the surface that's driving these troubling behaviors, so we can address issues from the root and tailor our work to best support your child.
Health Issues
Your child, or their sibling, has gotten a medical diagnosis that has been tough to adjust to. Maybe the issue is chronic and manageable, or it might be something big and scary. My goal is to provide a safe and warm space for your child to feel and express all of their big feelings about the illness. I aim to help them find their own strength on this journey, to feel confident in managing the ups and downs of complex health issues.

My Approach
I use evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy approaches to develop a specialized treatment plan based on you and your child's goals. I balance one-on-one intervention with working with parents on parenting strategies and other ways to support your child, as I value treating the concern from all angles.Â

The relationship between a child and their therapist is essential for growth, and I aim to connect with your child on their level, with lots of toys, games, and art supplies at their disposal.Â
